Personalized Math Education
This year I'm offering 1-1 private teaching, and I am available for small group classes.
Elise is a teacher and education researcher with a background in math education. Her education includes a minor from UC Berkeley in math education with courses in project–based curriculum, inquiry-based
lesson planning, and classroom interactions. She taught 7th grade math in Berkeley, CA. She runs small group classes students ages 8–18 in math and has been teaching fully virtually since March 2020. Elise brings a deep knowledge of current math education research and stays up-to-date on best practices for teaching, including trainings on teaching virtually.

What I offer
Small Group Classes
I work with small groups/pods to design courses in math (3rd-8th grade) and offer 2 courses in Civil Rights History.

Black Civil Rights History through Children's Literature

Rotating Topic Middle School Math Enrichment (geometry, probability, algebra, word problems)

Real Life Math Problems (Word Problem Focused) (4th-6th grade content standards)

Design Challenges (grade levels groups, building with household objects, focus on geometry and engineering standards)
Academic Tutoring
I tutor students ages 5-17 in math and English. I create my own lesson plans for topics students are working on, and/or work with students on homework and test prep. I taught 7th grade math in Berkeley, CA.
